The USTA and Southern Section events listed above will be included in our standings and final rankings even if the occur outside of Alabama, this is in an effort to have our standings/rankings be a more accurate reading of our players. We will use the 12 month rolling standings for our calculations beginning with the first standing list published in 2005 and it will not include those out of state events of 2004 that our players participated in, it will only include any of the above mentioned out of state events as they occur in 2005. For the 2005 standings and final rankings we will use the players eight (8) best events and will include points from play in the next higher age division as well, if it is one of the players best 8 events. Therefore the first standings list published in 2005 will reflect a players 8 best tournaments. |
The Junior Council will evaluate all level 3’s and level 4’s this year and will make decisions on tightening the criteria for 2006 events based on several items. The council will consider the addition of level 5’s also in 2006. All Tournament Directors are strongly encouraged to grow the number of participants and the level of play as much as possible as the council will be using that among other tournament related items to set the levels in 2006. The council will also make every attempt to see that ever area of the state has at least 1 level 3 and preferably 2 or more.
